How to find a lost cat

Cat

How do you find a lost cat, when do not have a picture of your cat! We had her for a day and did not take any pictures! Hindsight always knows best. Take a picture of your cat as soon as you get it! We did not do that. So now I had to humble myself and tell my friend, who gave us the cat, that we lost her cat and ask her if she had any pictures. Please! Thankfully she had a short video of her cat that her daughter still had on her phone! Yay!

So, then we were able to post her picture on the various websites that help you look for your lost pet. I also posted the picture on our neighborhood Facebook page! When we posted on social media that we lost our pet several people said to also make flyers, pass them around and put a sign in your yard to alert people driving around so if they see your lost pet they can notify you. Also, Facebook has group pages for people who lost or found a pet in your area. There are also groups for people who feed feral cats.
Everyday we walked around our neighborhood looking for our cat, Daisy. On one of those days, we actually knocked on our neighbor’s doors and actually talked to them. Which was very hard since I and my daughter are not extroverts! But we found out that at 11pm of the night that Daisy ran off, our neighbor actually saw a white animal run down the street going south. So, we started concentrating our efforts to the south of us. We first searched in our neighborhood, passed out flyers, we asked people we saw that were out if they saw our cat. We printed out flyers and left them on our neighbors’ doors. Someone said that outdoor only cats can roam up to 1 mile from their home, so we drove over to other surrounding neighborhoods to look for our cat. We searched for a month and a half. My daughter was starting to give up hope of finding Daisy. I started praying that the cat would be found by someone who knew how to contact us.

Then one day a neighbor posted a picture of Daisy in her backyard on our neighborhood Facebook page, asking if this was our cat. It was our cat! But our cat would not stay long in her backyard. We had to put out food in the neighbor’s yard but she would eat it when no one was around. So, the neighbor stopped feeding the cat. So, then the neighbor was able to catch the cat in her laundry room and let us pick her up and take her home! Yay! We got our cat back!

It is very interesting that after we got Daisy, our cat back, she was afraid to go outside…
